When we receive your order you will receive confirmation of the order [this begins the Purchase Contract] clearly stating:
what you have ordered
the total cost of your order
delivery and returns information
If your order is placed on a Friday or over the weekend, please note that it will be processed on the following Monday.
Orders can be placed using most major credit and debit cards.
We handle all orders ourselves and take great care when wrapping and packaging your things.
This is stating the obvious…but we need to say it anyway.
We are very proud of the fact that the majority of our collection is made and crafted by hand. These are not mass-produced items, often they bear the marks of the makers that have worked them and irregularities are part of the unique beauty and individuality of the pieces. Please do consider this when you are ordering. No two things are identical, sizing will be very close but not exact, colours highly similar but not precise. It is exactly this variation that gives each piece such personality and value. We hope you will agree.
ACCURACY OF INFORMATION
We will endeavour to ensure accuracy across the website at all times but accept that occasionally there may be mistakes (we’re human after all!). Please accept that any errors are absolutely unintentional.
However, if goods are no longer in stock, if there is a pricing error or a delivery issue, we will let you know as fast as we can. We will suspend your order, contact you about the changes and wait for your agreement to go ahead.
Shipping is based on your delivery address and the size and weight of your order. We use a combination of Royal Mail and Interlink couriers depending on the size of the parcel. We have tried to keep this as simple and straight forward as possible.

It goes without saying that we hope you will be delighted with your order when they arrive but we also understand that sometimes things aren’t quite as you had imagined. We will issue a full refund on items that are returned to us WITHIN 14 DAYS of being received by you, providing they are are in an unused condition and in original packaging.
It is essential that you do the following:
Please do not use the items or damage the packaging. Goods MUST be returned in original packaging, in saleable condition.
Please EMAIL US IMMEDIATELY email@example.com letting us know that you intend to return an item/items. This terminates the Purchase Contract.
We will refund the full amount that you paid for the goods but please note: delivery costs are non-refundable. The original delivery charge and the cost of returning unwanted goods is your responsibility.
Please make sure that you obtain ‘proof of postage’ from the Post Office when returning anything to us.
If you use the product or if the packaging is damaged, unfortunately we cannot provide a refund.
We really hope this won’t happen…but if you do find that goods are faulty please EMAIL US IMMEDIATELY firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can do our best to put it right. If we are able to replace the item we will do so as fast as possible, alternatively a refund will be made in full. You will not incur delivery charges where goods are deemed faulty.
Faulty goods must be returned within 14 days of receiving it.
Purchase of items sold during any 'sales' is final. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds or exchanges on Sale items.

1. collection of your data - what we collect and why
Simple Shape is an online e-commerce business and in order to fulfil our services to you, our customers, we do need to collect and process some of your data.
For the purpose of fulfilling orders and occasional promotional activity email marketing Simple Shape collects (either when you place an order or at an event, pop-up shop etc):

Occasionally we may need to contact you contact via email regarding service relating to your order, matters such as billing, product support and logistics.
2. your consent
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction (including verifying your credit card, to place an order, to arrange for a delivery or return a purchase) we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing eg: our newsletter, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

3. transfer of your data
Please be reassured that we wouldn't dream of passing on your data or any personal information that we have collected to a third party unless we are required to do so by law, for example a credit reference or fraud prevention agency.
4. security of information / data storage
The Simple Shape online shop store is hosted on the Squarespace platform. Alongside our Squarespace site we use Stripe to enable card transactions. Stripe provides the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate our on-line payment systems. Squarespace and Stripe provide us with the online services that allows us to sell our products to you.
Squarespace and Stripe store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Your address and email address is sent to us so that we can complete your order, we have no access to any of your payment card details.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, our platforms and providers follow all Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard requirements and implement generally accepted industry standards.
what is PCI-DSS?
PCI-DSS compliance is a security standard for companies and organisations that handle payment information from consumers. Squarespace’s payment processor, Stripe, is PCI compliant.
PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a framework for developing a robust payment card data security process - including prevention, detection and appropriate reaction to security incidents.
Simple Shape uses Stripe to provide card transaction services to us. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

what is SSL technology?
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) provides three important security benefits:
- Privacy: Encrypts the connection between the browser and web server and securely transmits information (like login credentials) to prevent unauthorised parties from eavesdropping.
- Data integrity: Prevents unauthorised parties from altering data during transmission (like during a Form Block submission).
- Authentication: Protects against impersonation by requiring web server proof of identity.
We are in the process of looking at what cookies we use and evaluating whether they are the best ones for Simple Shape and our customers. This will be updated in due course.
