Eat Out: Simple Shape, Quietly Styled

I have wanted to work with Emma Harris for sometime (in fact we have been talking about it for a long time!). She writes a lovely blog, A Quiet Style, about interiors, flowers, fashion and food. She has a very special aesthetic and her images are arrestingly beautiful.  I thought it would be wonderful to see how the Simple Shape collection would look 'through her lens'.

We planned a shoot, worked out our ideas, found a location and decided to create a series of pictures: Eat. Out
The plan was to hang a cloud of cow parsley over the table and create a simple, seasonal outside eating setting. We met to gather the cow parsley at Devil's Dyke near Brighton. Despite it being mid-May the fog came down. BUT we persevered and no thanks to the Great British Weather, the results are beautiful.

Here are my behind the scenes snaps and some of the final images.

We had found the perfect location, Upper Lodge in Sussex. We took our bucket full of Cow Parsley, a car full of Simple Shape stock and met Corina, Upper Lodge's owner. After good coffee and a tour of the wonderful grounds, including a guide to the available ladders and outdoor furniture, we set about creating a table to feast the eyes.

I realised as we worked that Emma's blog is perfectly titled. She works quietly, she's careful and has precise attention to detail. The result is really rather lovely. Simple Shape was quietly styled.

It was a real privilege and an absolute pleasure to work with Emma. To read her version of our day visit A Quiet Style.
We were made very welcome by Corina at Upper Lodge, it was a great location. The Tack Barn is available for holiday rentals.
